1. Introduction
Mise Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Mise," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Mise platform, website, and services (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Account Information — Name, email address, phone number, business name and address, job title and role, account credentials.
Voice Data — Audio recordings submitted through the Service, transcripts generated from voice recordings, corrections and edits to transcripts.
Payroll Information — Employee names and identifiers, hours worked, shift times, roles, tip amounts, tipouts, and wage calculations, approval and review actions.
Inventory Information — Product names and counts, inventory session data, product catalog information, vendor and pricing data.
Payment Information — Billing address, payment method details (processed by third-party payment processors — we do not store full credit card numbers).
Communications — Customer support inquiries, feedback and suggestions, email correspondence.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Usage Data — Features used, session duration, error logs, workflow completion rates.
Device Information — Device type, OS, browser, IP address, unique device identifiers.
Cookies — We use cookies to maintain session state and analyze usage. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Pages We Send You — When you open a page Mise sent you on look.getmise.io, or ask a question in the chat on it, Mise records that it was opened, when, which link it was opened from (each person a page is sent to may get a link of their own), your browser's type (its user agent), the country our web host Cloudflare reports for the connection, and a random number kept in your browser so a second open from it counts as the same browser. Mise uses this only to know whether a page reached the people it was sent to, never for advertising, and it is not shared with any other company.
2.3 Information About Third Parties
When you submit voice recordings containing employee information (names, hours, tips), you are the data controller. Mise processes it on your behalf to provide the Service, and also uses it to develop, train and improve Mise's products and models as section 3.1 and Terms section 11 describe.

We do NOT: serve targeted advertising, build consumer profiles unrelated to the Service, or use your data for any purpose incompatible with those disclosed here.
3.1 Mise learns from your data by default
Mise uses the information in this policy, including information that identifies people, to develop, train and improve its products and models, which serve other restaurants too. This is on by default. One customer's data is never shown to or reachable by another customer.

We may also share information in business transfers, as required by law, with your consent, in aggregated/de-identified form, or as Terms section 11 allows. Before Mise shares personal information with a kind of third party not listed above, we will add it here and announce the change as section 15 says.
5. Voice Data Practices
We only record voice memos explicitly submitted by Users. We do NOT continuously record, passively listen, or monitor ambient audio. Audio files are stored encrypted and retained for 90 days. Transcripts are retained for the duration of your account plus 3 years.
6. Biometric Information
Mise does NOT create, collect, store, or use voiceprints or biometric identifiers. Our transcription converts speech to text — it does not extract biometric characteristics or voice signatures.
7. Payroll Data Practices
We process: employee names, roles, hours, tips, wages, shift data, approval actions. Employee contact details: the phone numbers, email addresses, employee IDs and job details your POS holds or you give us, kept encrypted and separately for each restaurant, and used to recognize an employee who texts Mise, to send your messages to your staff, and as Terms section 11 describes. We do NOT collect: Social Security numbers, bank/routing numbers, tax withholding, direct deposit details, W-4 or I-9 information.
8. Data Security
We implement encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest (AES-256), role-based access controls, and security monitoring. Our infrastructure is hosted on Google Cloud Platform (SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 certified).

10. Your Rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of your personal information. Contact us at privacy@getmise.io. We respond within 30 days.
11. Do Not Track and Other Websites
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for it, so the Service does not respond to it. Our pages carry no advertising or analytics code from other companies, and no third party collects personal information about your activities across other websites through the Service.
12. Children's Privacy
The Service is NOT intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
13. SMS Notifications
If you opt in to SMS notifications at app.getmise.io/sms/consent, you agree to receive recurring SMS messages related to restaurant operations (payroll, inventory, system notifications). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help.
14. Mobile Information & Data Sharing
We do not sell or share mobile or personal data with third parties, affiliates, or partners for marketing or promotional purposes. Under no circumstances will mobile data be shared or sold for advertising or promotional use.
15. Changes to This Policy
Material changes will be communicated via email and the Service with at least 30 days notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
